Belarusian town joins in with Europe’s Sustainable Energy Week

Last week, the Belarusian town of Braslaŭ participated in the European Sustainable Energy Week initiative. As part of the EU-funded project, a series of thematic events on environment, energy saving and energy efficiency were organised in the town between 16 and 23 June.

The event was initiated by Braslaŭ District Executive Committee and the Centre for Environmental Solutions, which together implement the EU-supported project "Braslaŭ District - the first climate neutral municipality in Belarus".

According to the EU Delegation to Belarus, the event hosted educational lectures and campaigns, flash mobs, eco games and a film screening on environmental protection. School children participated in outdoor games, environmental contests and puzzles and families got on their bikes to take part in a special cycling energy quest.
