Exhibition devoted to the 500-th anniversary of the Reformation and Belarusian book printing

An exhibition devoted to the 500-th anniversary of the Reformation and Belarusian book printing will work from 18 to 25 July at the "University of Culture"  Art Gallery.

The first Belarusian books were printed 500 years ago by Francysk Skaryna who gave birth to Belarusian book pronting. In his turn, Martin Luther posted his Ninety-five Theses on the door of  All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, Germany. The Theses represented author's reflections concerning conscience and internal freedon of a personality.

The exhibition will tell not only about the life of Martin Luther, who was a professor of theology, writer, founder of the Lutheran Church, a man who translated the Bible from Latin into German, but also about the time when he lived and about the Reformation in general.

The exhibition was organized by the Embassy of the Federtive Republic of Germany in Belarus, Mosty (Bridges) Non-governmental Organization of German Culture, Republican Center of National Cultures, Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts.
