November - month of Activism
The month of November is traditionally a month of activism for child protection organizations.
19 November is marked as the World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse. The initiative to celebrate the date was launched by the WWSF – Women’s World Summit Foundation, in 2000. And now from 1st to 19th of November a lot of organizations all over the world participate in the campaign 19 Days of Activism Prevention Abuse and Violence against Children/Youth that WWSF organizes. The participants are NGOs from all over the world  - members of the WWSF coalition.
20 November is the Universal Children’s Day. On this day 27 years ago the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted that is so far the most rapidly and widely ratified international human rights treaty in history. The Convention changed the way children are viewed and treated – i.e., as human beings with a distinct set of rights instead of as passive objects of care and charity.
