Department of Humanitarian Activity of Directorate of Affairs of the President of the Republic of Belarus

was created in July 1997 in accordance with the Decree of  the President of the Republic of Belarus. Department is independent structure, which conducts the state policy in the sphere of humanitarian activity, including the children's recuperation abroad.

This harmonious system is allowed to coordinate the activity of belorussian organizations and citizens of the Republic of Belarus in realization of charity programs, including the receipt and distribution of humanitarian aid and inspection of it's purpose usage.

Yearly the Republic of Belarus receives humanitarian supplies from more than 30 world's countries charity organizations, religious confessions and private initiatives. The most cooperative charity organizations are from Germany, the USA, Great Britain and Italy. They are:

·        Charity fund «Life after Chernobyl», Germany, (the chairman – Astrid Zam);

·        Public organization «Houses instead Chernobyl», Germany, (the chairman –Ditrich fon Bodelshwing);

·        International charity organization «SOS – Kinderdorf International», Austria, (the chairman – Chelmut Kutin);

·        American charity organization «City Hope International», (the chairman – Paul Mohr);

·        Ireland charity organization «Chernobyl Children's Project», (the chairman – Adi Roche).

The legislation of the Republic of Belarus create favorable conditions for foreign citizens, who delivers humanitarian aid to our republic, and also for chairmen of the foreign charity organizations and those people, who comes to discuss the questions of humanitarian deliveries and children's recuperation abroad. These are free of charge visas, including multivisas, privilege arrangements in hotels, and assistance by custom clearance – convoys with humanitarian aid and buses with children. The foreigners, who deliver humanitarian aid by their own means of transport shouldn't pay way fare.

In order to improve the forms of humanitarian cooperation, to consolidate and develop international connections Department organize meetings with the representatives of Embassies and foreign charity organizations and funds.

We are grateful to all people, who share Chernobyl trouble with us, and offer humanitarian aid to the Republic of Belarus in order to minimize and liquidate the consequences of Chernobyl disaster and invite to new forms of humanitarian cooperation in the sphere of children's recuperation and treatment here in the Republic of Belarus. The government of the republic needs donations to build new and reconstruct old sanatorium-recuperative complexes and to equip them with modern equipment, according medical, and also with medicines, vitamins and ecological free products.

We are convinced, that friendship between people from different countries by realizing charity activity is the source of confidence, kindness and peace on our planet.
