Belarusian Non-Governmental Organizations Database contains information on 2816 NGOs, their associations and organizational structures of some of them (the information on March 1, 2003). Informational analysis of the database lets draw conclusions on the third sector in Belarus, according to the location of a head organization and the territory of its activity. The Database contains information on NGO activity implementation in different directions. NGO activity can be illustrated by the following indicators:

1. Functional (what functions NGOs fulfil). 

2. Target group.

3. Activity characterization (charitable, educational, health, some others).

One of the main conditions of effective NGO functioning is a high self-organization ability of population and active NGO cooperation. Such cooperation can be carried out in different forms. The simplest of them is an informational exchange, which is necessary for adequate evaluation of the present situation and its perspectives. New information technologies, including Internet resources enable to get necessary information very operative.
