11 of those newly created/previously registered by the Justice Department of Minsk City Executive Committee for the period September 2002 until August 2003 are also mainly socially oriented. It should be explained, that the very nature of the whole NFP sector lies in its social orientation. However, this group of NGOs is defined by its exclusive orientation towards socially based problems that are visible and persistent. The solutions to these problems are extremely beneficial for society and they are tackled by separate groups of people. New NGOs will contribute to the following:
-The prevention of violence and the rehabilitation of those harmed by violence
-The international interaction and partnership
-The organisation of social/humanitarian aid and material support to the needy and other unprotected social groups
-The improvement of processes in training and upbringing. More precisely: improving methods of aesthetic upbringing, unifying efforts toward the perfect, harmonious development of personality, promoting the creation of conditions for the intellectual and moral development of children and young people.
-The protection of consumer rights
-The social adaptation and integration into society of those with physical and mental handicaps
-The improvement of the health of children and adolescents weakened as a result of consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
Organisations dedicated to those with handicaps, as well as those for professionals have a social orientation. It also includes organisations for scientists working towards new ideas and achievements, NGOs that work towards achieving cultural/educational goals and many others.
