As is already known, most NGOs work to achieve chartered goals that are put into action by overcoming various problems. And, although the earmarked purposes of NGOs are highly diverse, it is generally possible to isolate the fundamental orientation of each NGOs activity. We will use the current particularity of the NGOs whilst presenting both new NGOs and those who have re-registered.

2 new NGOs and 1 branch of an NGO registered by the Justice Department of Minsk City Executive Committee during the given period, are involved with problems relating to those with physical or mental handicaps.

The NGO “We Will Be Together!” aims to socially rehabilitate and adapt handicapped individuals to social conditions and to involve them in an active lifestyle via training and teaching. Various groups, courses and studios (for instance, courses in cutting out and sewing, computer courses, English language course and others) allow those in this social category to master skills and knowledge that are currently wanted in the labour market. Considerable importance is also given to providing the general, psychological and social support of emotional difficulties that handicapped individuals suffer, discovering their capabilities and talents and creating possibilities for social contact. This NGO works to fulfil all of the above.

The regional NGO “Sports Club for the Deaf (Zoobr)” helps to arrange optimal conditions for the discovery of sports based potential in deaf people.

Minsk town federation of the NGO “Belarus Volleyball Foundation” apart from promoting the development of volleyball in the Republic of Belarus, also promotes the creation of volleyball teams for the deaf.
