Polatsk Associated Organisation of NGO "Republican Association of Disabled in Wheel Chairs" sees its mission in creation of equal opportunities for the disabled in wheel chairs for independent habitation, creation of un-barrier environment; sport, medical rehabilitation; information support.
The projects, implemented in 2003 : distribution of humanitarian aid, delivered by the Polatsk NGO “Circle of friends”; sports rehabilitation of the disabled in wheel chairs through participating in the sports games “Golden wheel” in Mogilyov; gatherings of the disabled in Borisov.
The main difficulties: fundraising, lack of gyms and a bus for the disabled, a barrier environment.
Future plans : a festive arrangement, dedicated to the Day of the Disabled; participation in a range of sports arrangements in Moscow, Mogilyov and Minsk; conducting a city sports tournament and an international sports competition.

NGO "Polatsk Town Association of Parents of Disabled Children "Strumok" helps parents in disabled children upbringing.
The major events held in 2003: festive performances for disabled children; distribution of humanitarian aid among families, having disabled children; a round table discussion timed to the Day of Mother; organization of a trip down the Dvina for disabled children. The main difficulties, the organisation faces, are of financial-technical character, they are as follows: a problem of technique acquisition, lack of apartments and some others. The organisation experiences lack of legal services on the questions of taxation and registration of humanitarian gratuitous aid.
Future plans: excursions for children to the Beresino reserve; arrangement of festive events, timed to the Day of the Disabled and to the New Yea Eve; organizing and conducting meetings with german, dutch and spain NGOs.

Mozyr NGO of Parents with Disabled Children "Cry of Soul" amasses parents having disabled children. The organisation aims at rendering assistance in upbringing, health invigoration, development of children talents and rendering a moral support to their families.
Basic activities in 2003: conducting a range of arrangements supporting physical development of disabled children, building their communicative skills, uniting them and developing their artistic talents.
Activities 2000-2002: a seminar for parents of disabled children with an infantile cerebral paralysis was held for the purpose of receiving information on children upbringing; creation of dance and drama hobby clubs for disabled children. The NGO sees its problems in experiencing lack of computers and telephones, as well as financial difficulties.

The main problems and difficulties: people are interested only in humanitarian aid, whilst becoming a member of the organisation; the organisation experiences lack of legal information on the questions of registration of humanitarian gratuitous aid.
