120 participants of the questionnaire replied to say how many employed staff their NGO had for the period of 2002-July 2003. NGO staff size ranges from 0–34 people. The modal size is exactly 0, that is to say 0 people. In other words, the answer most often encountered to the given question was “No employed staff”. The median size is exactly 2, that is to say 2 people. If arranged in order of greatness, half the received values would lie above this value and half below.
The upper and lower quartiles of the range were also measured (for more information on how these statistics work, look in the section on Size of NGO membership in Belarus). Therefore, we can say that the majority of NGOs in Belarus don’t have any ‘employed staff’ in the general understanding of the phrase. In other words, the NGO is not the NGO leader’s place of employment where it is possible to receive a salary. We can group the data in the following manner:
