Within this investigation 126 questionnaires (having been filled in by NGO representatives since July 2002 till now) were analyzed. The questionnaire was worked out for information gathering for the fourth edition of “Belarusian Non-governmental Organisations Directory”. The directory does not contain information on:

• number of NGO members,
• number of employees,
• availability of periodicals,
• number of NGO voluntaries,
• NGO cooperation

but this information is very valuable not only for the third sector, but also for grant makers and NGO supporting structures.

Alterations of the above mentioned parameters depend on:

·          legal status of NGO,

·          region of NGO activity,

·          activity goals and NGO mission,

·          NGO financial welfare

The aim of this analysis was to investigate NGO resources, depending on NGO legal status and, in some cases, on region of NGO activity.

The information, represented in the investigation is preliminary. Representational information, the information, which can characterize Belarusian NGOs on the whole, will be represented in future.
