On the 23rd of September, a new section opened on the Portal for Belarusian Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) where it is possible to observe changes in the dynamics of the Portal’s online readership. As with any information resource, interest in our Portal experiences systematic periods of growth and decline with drops in interest mostly occurring at the weekend. However, as can be seen from the graph below: “Number of visitors to the Portal’s web-pages from August to November” after work on the resource was resumed on the 30th of September, there was a sharp increase in the number of users. During the course of one day (from the 30th of September to the 1st of October), the number of users roughly trebled (from 31 to 83 people).
In August interest was stable, rising and falling at uniform intervals probably associated with periods when the site was being updated with new information, its importance and the time the online readership took to react to it. Apart from that, the Portal’s creation for a specific user, i.e. representatives of the public sector, fully justified itself. Starting from May, a specific, permanent online readership has been formed (see graph below: “Number of visitors to the Portal’s web-pages from May to June”). The number of online users has increased systematically over the summer months. In September, the situation was quite different. The life of the Portal during this month was characterized by periods of sharp growth and decline of interest. Nevertheless, it’s possible to notice that both the start and the end of the month were characterized by lulls. It was especially pleasant to see that sharp rise in interest towards the Portal at the start of October. 476 people visited the Portal on October 6. At the moment, this is a record for a one-day period. Perhaps we are reaching a new level of site attendance.
In November, the sharp rises and drops in the number of visitors to the site were recorded as before, but it can already be said with confidence, that a sharp fall in the number of visitors to the site characterises weekends and national holidays whereas stable interest of a fairly high level characterises weekdays. Apart from that, a systematic increase in visitors to the site generally is apparent.
December-January the months before and during the New Year. In spite of the festive season, the number of visitors to the Portal during this period continued to steadily increase. A decline in the number of visitors was observed around the end of December and early January. However, after January 7 (as you will remember Belarusians spend the whole week celebrating New Year) an increase in the number of visitors was again observed. A sharp rise in the number of visitors was noticed immediately after the festive week on January 8, but interest in the site for the rest of the month remained steady, without further changes.
