2233 non-governmental organizations were registered in the Republic of Belarus as of October 1, 2006, in particular, 231 international NGOs, 733 Republican NGOs, and 1280 local NGOs; 15 unions (associations) of non-governmental organization, 53 funds (3 international, 3 Republican, and 47 local).
