BELTA. A delegation of the Federation of Cuban Women has been paying a two-day visit to Belarus. Today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to this country Omar Medina Quintero and representatives of the federation met with members of the working group of the National Assembly of Belarus for cooperation with the parliament of Cuba.
“Our goal is to strengthen and develop relations between the women’s federations of the two states”, the ambassador said.
According to deputy chairperson of the permanent commission for housing policy, construction, trade and privatization of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, member of the Presidium of the public association Belarusian Women’s Union Anna Burova, the Belarusian union and the Cuban federation plan to sign a cooperation agreement on February 14 to determine new cooperation avenues.
The Federation of Cuban Women was founded in 1960. It unites more than 4 million members (86% of the Cuban women).
