Information of the NGO Department, the Ministry of Justice
As of July 1, 2007, 17 political parties, 37 trade unions, 2223 non-governmental organizations (230 international, 715 republican and 1278 local), 18 unions (associations) of NGOs, as well as 63 foundations (4 international, 4 republican and 55 local) were in the NGO register in the Republic of Belarus.
1130 organizational structures of political parties (62 regional, 423 district and city/town, 645 local), 22302 organizational structures of trade unions (108 regional, 758 district and city/town, 21395 local, 41 united) and 13075 organizational structures of other NGOs (535 regional, 3871 district and city/town, 8669 others) were in the register.
522 sports-, 345 charitable, 306 enlightener's, cultural, educational, 152 youth NGOs, including: 21 children's NGOs, 141 NGOs for disabled people, war and labour veterans, 108 scientific NGOs, 99 NGOs uniting national minorities, 69 environmental, historical NGOs, 39 creative, 36 women's, and 406 other non-governmental organizations were in the NGO register in the Republic of Belarus.
For the recent six months of 2007:
47 new non-governmental organizations, including 4 international, 8 republican, 3 regional, 30 district, city/town and 2 other local NGOs, 1 Republican Association of NGOs , 6 foundations, including 1 international, 1 republican and 4 local have been registered in the Republic.
