Wellcome Trust launches fellowships for health researchers from developing countries As part of its International Strategy in Global Health Research, the Wellcome Trust has launched a range of fellowships in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The fellowships are open to basic scientists, social scientists, public health researchers and clinical researchers from developing countries, and cover all levels of career support from Master's training to senior fellowships. Master's Fellowships support a training course and a research project relevant to health in developing countries. Training Fellowships support researchers for three years at an early career stage to gain research experience and training. The majority of the award will be spent in a developing country but there is scope for training overseas. Intermediate Fellowships support high-calibre mid-career researchers to establish an independent research programme in a developing country location. Senior Fellowships support outstanding researchers to establish themselves as leading investigators at an academic institution in a developing country location. Deadline for preliminary applications: December 18th 2006; February 16th 2007 for full applications.
