The Law On Extremism Counteracting has come into effect The Belaruian Law On Extremism Counteracting came into effect on January 21. The Law clarifies the notions of 'extremism' and 'extremist activity', identifies the main principles and lines of extremism counteracting, introduces the bodies to counteract this phenomenon, and their authorities, and introduces certain measures with a view to extremism counteracting. The following measures should be mentioned: suspension of activities of an organization; declaring an organization registered in the territory of Belarus an extremist one, prohibition of its activities and dissolution thereof; prohibition of activities of any foreign and international extremist organizations, prevention from publishing and dissemination of any extremist materials; prevention from extremit activities during any mass events; counteracting any public statements of the officials of such extremit organizations appealing for extremist activitie.
