Empowerment Through Art
New therapeutic healing program targeted at vulnerable population.
My name is Hilary Wallis, and last year I created a therapeutic art program in partnership with Plan International in Uganda called Empowerment Through Art. It's diverse participants orphans, elderly men and women, HIV positive groups, war affected peoples, school children, polygamous families, abuse victims, and the disabled acquire skills in art to mentally better themselves through therapeutic healing.
I returned from Africa in November to give presentations in several cities, and I held an event about my work at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. I am both an artist and journalist by trade, and my website contains photographs, paintings, and our documentary we filmed that visually tells the story of Empowerment Through Art.

My wish is to become involved in your organization and continue this type of program in other developing countries. I witnessed a great success of working on the importance of mental health, education, and advocacy. Plan embraced it and now has implemented this project throughout their program areas in Uganda.
I have attached my written proposal and resume that include more specifics, as well as direct weblinks to both. Please contact me by phone and email, and we can look into how cultural exchange programs, income generating for the participants and fundraising opportunities can be added benefits.
