Children, Interpreter Enjoy Healthy Summer in the Area
|
|
34(260) 31.08.2004-06.09.2004 This summer, 166 children from Belarus traveled halfway around the world to experience some basics Americans too often take for granted fresh air and nourishing food. They traded lingering radiation from the 1986 Chernobyl reactor explosion for an 8-week opportunity to help strengthen their immune systems. Most of the children are staying in Ohio with families who have opened their homes and hearts to these children, age 7 to 18. This event is supported by the United States Charitable Fund. This is the fifth year for the respite and relief program.
