Guidelines and features of a cultural manager working temporarily
at the Brussels Office for Democratic Belarus
Description of the position
· Fellowship of ten months at the Office for Democratic Belarus in
Brussels
· Main tasks will be the organisation of projects focusing on the promotion of Belarusian culture (e.g. a photo exhibition, theatre performance, events featuring Belarusian writers, etc.) and taking place in West European countries
· Opportunity to organise a small number of self-initiated projects for the promotion of Belarusian culture and strengthening cultural links between Belarus and other European countries
· Opportunity to establish contacts with European cultural networks
· Monthly fellowship of 1,100 Euro, plus a limited budget for one trip to and from Brussels and travel costs around Europe in connection with the projects
Key selection criteria
· Person with Belarusian citizenship or of Belarusian origin
· Age: preferably between 25 and 35
· Overview of and good connections with contemporary Belarusian cultural scene
· Very good knowledge of Belarusian and Russian, good knowledge of English and German
· Practical experience of organizing cultural events outside of Belarus (necessary)
· Ability to work independently
· Quality and feasibility of the self-initiated projects
· Readiness to live and work in Brussels for a period of up to ten months
