Europeans for peace. Funding programme for international youth projects

EUROPEANS FOR PEACE promotes international exchange projects for young people from countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Israel and Germany.

Schools and non-school educational institutions can join up in international partnerships and apply for funding for their joint project. EUROPEANS FOR PEACE encourages young people to be active for human rights and democratic values.
Patron of the programme is the federal minister of foreign affairs Heiko Maas.

Funding for encounters between 1 July 2019 and 31 August 2020 can be provided for costs of travel, costs of accommodation and board, equipment and materials for project work and presentation of the results, as well as fees.

Funding is provided for: travel expenses, programme expenses, personnel expenses and a product flat rate for up to two encounters (outward and return encounter) for bilateral projects and up to three encounters for trilateral projects.

Who can apply:

• Applications are submitted by institutions and legally recognisable associations engaged in school or extracurricular activities.
• Binational or trinational projects can be funded. At least one partner must be from Germany and at least one from Central, Eastern or South-Eastern Europe or from Israel.
• Projects with partners from the following countries can be funded: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
• For trinational projects, the third partner to be funded can be from one of the countries mentioned above, or from another member state of the Council of Europe (e.g. France, Italy).

The following requirements must be observed in the application:

• The project participants are young people between the ages of 14 and 25. Projects by groups of students in higher education in the context of their studies cannot be funded.
• The encounters and the project work will be implemented in the period between July 2019 and July 2020. The encounters focus on the project work. At each encounter, a minimum of four days is spent on project work.
• Where partner constellations remain the same, groups executing projects can be funded at most three times within a period of five years by EUROPEANS FOR PEACE. We welcome long-term stabilisation of project partnerships.
