Young European Ambassadors to present future vision for Eastern Partnership at regional youth forum in Vilnius

On 17–20 June, 30 Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from the EU and its six Eastern partner countries will participate in the 4th Eastern Partnership Youth Forum in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius.

The YEAs will be among 250 participants from 26 countries attending the event.

The planned Eastern Partnership Youth Forum will be the fourth conference dedicated to issues that matter young people, organised on the margins of the Eastern Partnership Summit. The previous Eastern Partnership Youth Forums took place in Lithuania (2013), Latvia (2015) and Poland (2017), focusing on social inclusion and employment/employability.

This year’s forum will focus on the theme of critical thinking through media literacy and active participation.

The YEAs developed their vision for the future of the Eastern Partnership. The vision incorporates inputs from YEAs across the Eastern partner countries and the EU Member States. They have already presented their vision to the EU institutions and will share their vision at the Youth Forum.

The “Young European Ambassadors” initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The YEAs are the driving force of the ‘Young European Neighbours’ network, an online platform that facilitates the mutual exchange of ideas and information on the EU, as well as the engagement of young people in informative activities. It is focused on people-to-people contacts and dialogue-driven activities that contribute to greater awareness and improved perception of the EU and the enhanced assessment of its relations with the Eastern Neighbourhood.
