Join Cycling Conference "PraRovar. Tourism" on 23-24 August

Region:
25.07.2019

A specialized cycling conference will be held in Minsk for the first time. The key topic is cycle tourism including development of cycling routes, travel arrangements and economic factors.

The conference agenda is divided into two units. The first day is dedicated to the issues of cycle tourism development in the country, as well as the work on cycling route development. The day will be concluded with event tourism: trips dedicated to particular events, such as festivals or championships.

During the second day, the participants will discuss their personal cycling travel experience. The “Making Money on Cycle Tourism” topic will be a key element of the agenda. Beginning cycle tourists will have an opportunity to learn from experienced travellers about route selection criteria, travel preparation steps, aspects of travelling with children and dogs. A film show and discussion are planned for the afternoon of the second day.
All persons interested in the topic are welcome to register free of charge to take part in the conference audience. The conference presenters are still enlisted, as well. If you are experienced in cycle travelling, building cycling routes, developing tourism-related commercial projects, and willing to share it with others, we encourage you to apply for participation as a speaker by the end of July.

The organisers may cover travel costs for audience members and both travel and accommodation costs for speakers. We invite municipal and rural administrations, sports and tourism authorities, farm stays, tourist guides, museums, schools, reserves, bike rental and tourism business agencies to take part in the conference. And, of course, we invite cyclists, both beginning and experienced travellers. Registration is available at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeySwKI8tjHr9xa2_9Dk0rApvMuM6pRiAfIScnpyTWaK2hQsQ/viewform

The conference is organised under the Cycling Movement in Belarus Project, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Centre for Environmental Solutions and Minsk Cycling Community NGO. It is co-funded by the GEF Small Grant Program “Cycling Movement Development in Belarus Regions”, which is implemented by Minsk Cycling Community NGO.
